Midtown
New York
We had a craving for spaghetti al limone that lead us to randomly booking a reservation here based on a Google Maps search so we admittedly had no expectations going into it, but WOW Cucina 8/12 delivered and then some. When you walk into Cucina 8 1/2, you're greeted by a sweeping, spiraling red staircase that funnels into the glitzy bar and happy hour area where you can often find local jazz musicians lighting up the space. Further past the bar area, the dining room offers a romantic and softly lit ambiance that suggests this will be no hum drum meal. We ordered the cacio e pepe zucchini chips + spaghetti al limone and can hands down to attest to each being the best of its kind that we've ever had. There are not many meals that we think about for days on end, and this was certainly stayed top of our mind. The entire experience from the meal to the saxophone player were *chef's kiss* and we are already planning a return visit.
